My artistic style and values are still developing, and I am still exploring what I enjoy and want to say through my art. Currently I would like to explore artistic styles and medias through describing people and emotions in my work, because I believe that people are the best form of expression. Learning about elements of art through the creation of abstract or other realistic works is also important to me. Human emotions provide a whole world of opportunities, and I am exploring these emotions through the use of paint, graphite, and analogous colors. Drawing with graphite allows me to explore value, form, and shape in my work, which helps me grow as an artist. Paint allows me to add color, and explore different ways of adding value to a piece. I use analogous colors because I believe they portray emotions in an all encompassing way, so the entire work will come off as happy, sad, or any other range of emotions. The use of photos of myself or people in my life in my artwork is more intriguing to me than using pictures of strangers. By working with real objects and people in my life, I better relate to my artwork and am able to show more emotion and real characteristics. Through my work I hope to become a better artist, and further my skills and capabilities.
